INFECTED SURGICAL WOUND LEADS TO STROKE
A construction worker had back surgery to repair the effects of a work injury. The surgical wound became infected at the hospital and the doctors tried a 10 day course of antibiotics. The infection seemed to quiet down, but was still there. A few weeks later the worker had a stroke when the infection traveled from the wound site to the brain. The result was permanent loss of some vision and other effects.
