Bill Hardy

Personal injury lawyer Bill Hardy has focused his career on helping injured residents of Maine receive the money they deserve from insurance companies. Bill Hardy was born in Farmington, Maine, attended Colby College, and served in the U. S. Air Force in the United States and Vietnam. He was a news producer for a Boston Television station before beginning his career in personal injury law.

Fredda Wolf

Personal injury attorney Fredda Wolf has practiced law in Maine since 1973. She was educated at the University of New Hampshire (1959-1961) and graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in philosophy in 1963. She went on to receive a law degree from the Boston University School of Law, L.L.B. in 1966. Fredda was first admitted to practice law in Massachusetts in 1966 and she was admitted in Maine in 1973. In addition, she was admitted to practice law in the U.S. Federal District Court in 1974 as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals from 1967 to 1973; and she was Of Counsel with the firm of Fisher, Parson, Moran & Temple in Dover, New Hampshire.

Fredda Wolf practiced as an associate at Berman & Simmons in Lewiston, Maine, from 1973 to 1975 before joining the Lewiston and Portland based team of personal injury lawyers at Hardy Wolf & Downing. Fredda served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Lewiston from 1978 to 1980 and served as Member of the Maine Judicial Council from 1980 to 1988. She has been a presenter at Family Law Seminars for the Maine Bar Association and she is a longstanding member of the American Trial Lawyer's Association (ATLA), the Maine Bar Association: Family Law Section, and the American Bar Association.

Tom Downing

Attorney Tom Downing has been fighting for victims of car accidents for more than 20 years. He has extensive trial experience in Maine courts and currently helps lead the team of Lewiston and Portland personal injury lawyers at Hardy Wolf & Downing.

Tom Downing was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated Magna cum laude from Tufts University (B.A., 1971), attended the University of Kent in Canterbury, England (M.A., 1973), and received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1978.

Tom Downing was admitted to the Maine Bar and U.S. Federal District Court in 1978. He began his legal career as Staff Attorney/Lobbyist at the Maine Audubon Society from 1978 to 1981 before joining Bill Hardy to form the team of Lewiston and Portland personal injury lawyers with Hardy Wolf & Downing. He is a member of the Maine Bar Association, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Sheldon Tepler

Personal injury attorney Sheldon Tepler graduated from State University of New York at Binghamton in 1976. He went on to complete a master's degree at Columbia University and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1981. He clerked for the Honorable Richard Arnold of the Federal Eighth Court of Appeals ( Little Rock, Arkansas), after which he moved to Maine and worked for the Attorney General's office.

He joined the team of Lewiston and Portland personal injury lawyers at Hardy Wolf & Downing in February of 1984 and has been a partner since 1986. Sheldon has litigated hundreds of personal injury and car accident claims throughout Maine. He has been honored both by civic groups and the Maine Bar Association.

Michael Welch

Attorney Michael Welch has practiced personal injury law for the last 19 years. He is known as a forceful advocate for his clients. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northeastern University with highest honors in 1979 and graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 1985.

Michael Welch is licensed in Massachusetts and Maine, and he has been practicing law in Maine as a personal injury attorney since 1985. He is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA). Michael Welch has also been very active in the community, staying involved with youth sports and serving as a board member for Advocates For Children - the local child abuse and neglect council.

Christian Lewis

Attorney Christian Lewis joined the firm in 2006. He is an active trial attorney handling personal injury and professional negligence cases. He is a graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law, (J.D., 2006), and James Madison University, (B.A., 1996). Christian is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association.

Before attending law school, Christian was an analyst with the U.S. Department of Justice. While working for the federal government, he attended the Joint Military Intelligence College and earned a Master's of Science degree, (MSSI, 2004). Christian enjoys many different outdoor activities including motorcycling, fishing, and skiing.
